Sat 7/11 @ 6-8PM
Northeast Ohio Joan Pogalies, who lives in North Madison, specializes in taking photographic images and morphing them into something different than they started out as. She enlarges, she crops, she stacks, she distorts, she “reimagines reality.” She then uses a dye sublimation technique to infuse the pigments into metal surface that can be as large as four by five feet.
She’ll be showing some of those large images in a show at the Ashtabula Arts Center titled Above, Below, Through & Beyond: The Hidden Nature of Nature, curated by Mary Urbas. It’s on view from July 6-31, and will have an artist reception on Saturday July 11 from 6-8pm. It’s free and open to all.
