No one has to tell any reggae fan who the Wailers are — as in “Bob Marley and …”
The original Wailers, of course, were Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Livingston, three of the genre’s all-times greats. Following Marley’s death in 1981, his band regrouped as the Wailers. The personnel has changed (although Marley’s bassist Aston Barrett continues to lead the group) and they have been touring since keeping alive the spirit of authentic Jamaican roots reggae.
They’ll be at the Kent Stage with one of northeast Ohio’s biggest champions of roots reggae, Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band.
