What better way could there be to start your day than pouring yourself a cup of coffee and taking in a little art — from the comfort of your own home? Join the Akron Art Museum for its “Coffee with the Collection” virtual program.
The next edition will celebrating the 19th Amendment which gave women the right to vote, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. AAM’s deputy director Seema Rao will talk about works in the collection by women that addresses political issues, such as the 2012 work above by Jenny Holzer, one of the best-known American conceptual artists, who incorporates text into her mixed media works. She’s also an Ohio native, born in Gallipolis in southeastern Ohio, and a graduate of Ohio University in Athens.
Register for the program here. There’s a $5 per household fee.
