It’s hard to believe that pop singer/songwriter Kate Voegele will turn 32 on the day she performs at the Music Box Supper Club. It seems like just yesterday that she burst onto the local music scene as a Bay Village High School student who was winning over local audiences with her startlingly mature delivery of her impressively crafted original songs. She put out her first album, an EP, when she was just 16.
No it’s half her lifetime later, and she’s built herself a solid career. She caught the ear of a record label started by MySpace (remember them?) in the mid 00s, and released released the first of two albums on that label in 2007, when she was just 20. That year she began appearing on the TV series One Tree Hill in a recurring role until 2011. That provides her with a national audience to support her ongoing music career.
She’s released her fourth album Canyonlands in 2016 and a new single “Shoot This Arrow,” about sexual harassment late last year. Nick Barilla opens the show at the Music Box. Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 at the door — if there are any. She still has a big local following so get them while you can!
