As Justin Bibb is sworn in as Mayor of Cleveland and new leadership takes hold, we feel the need to take a cold, hard look at our region and find ways to work together to build a better future.
You can be a part of that future by connecting with Cleveland Leadership Center sessions every Wednesday. Even in the middle of winter, Fairmount Center for the Arts hosts an Open House, and many farmers markets are operating year-round. The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is open year-round too, and free on Mondays to Cuyahoga residents. There’s an open jam for musicians at the Beachland. The Odilon Redon show is on for a couple more weeks at CMA. And Burning River Baroque streams an afternoon show of mostly women composers addressing surprisingly contemporary concerns.
This week we remember musician Buzz Boron with a tribute by Jim Sudzy. CoolCleveland commentator and former Judge C. Ellen Connally offers commentary in her regular column Point Of Order on judicial misdeeds and the ridiculous custom of NYE gunplay.
We celebrateDavid Bowie with three live shows (in Cleveland on Thursday& Friday plus Akron on Saturday) and a livestream this week. Enjoy exciting live music and exclusive interviews from some of the coolest (and safest) clubs around, or from the comfort of your device or TV. Whichever perspective you prefer.

I hope the new administration will consider some change in the current policy for the sake of the taxpayers… Read More from C. Ellen Connally
