Veteran Journalist Tells His Story in New Book

Tue 1/11 @ 7PM

In nearly 50 years as a journalist, Terence Smith has worked or The New York Ties, CBS News and PBS’s The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. He’s covered the inner workings of the White House on one hand and told the stories of the lives of ordinary people in 44 countries on the other. He’s lived through the evolution of journalism from newsprint to digital domination.

And, as the title of his new book says, he’s covered Four Wars, Five Presidents. Subtitled A Reporter’s Journey from Jerusalem to Saigon to the White House, it attempts to describe the scope of his impressive career as a political reporter, foreign correspondent, editor and television analyst.

He’ll be a guest of the Hudson Library and Historical Society for a virtual event. It’s free, but you must register here. Copies of his book will be available for purchase through Hudson’s Learned Owl Book Shop.
