Hudson Library Airs Concert by Burning River Baroque

Sun 1/9 @ 2PM

Burning River Baroque, founded in 2012 by musicians Malina Rauschenfels and Paula Maust, is one of the area’s lesser known but more interesting small classical music ensembles. They assemble a variety of baroque-era pieces (including compositions by women) into programs addressing such issues as political exile and the stigmatization of mental illness, given a contemporary spin.

For a virtual program presented by the Hudson Library and Historical Society, they’re offering Elements Worth Fighting For, which features music by late 17th/early 18th century composers such as George Frideric Handel, Georg Philipp Telemann, Barbara Strozzi and Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre.

The program premieres on the Hudson Library’s Facebook page on Sunday January 9 @ 2pm and will be available on its YouTube page after that.
