Stands of golden grasses break up the wintry gray, black and brown that cast a gloomy spell over the Lakefront Nature Preserve, surrounded now by gray water (with a few diehard boaters!) Animals have gone into hiding and the outlines of the trees, including fallen trunks and tangled branches stand out in stark relief. There’s something to see in every season.
