Nature and the outdoors can be mysterious and beautiful after dark. Summit Metro Parks is giving you a chance to enjoy “Nature at Night” at its Springfield Bog Metro Park (1400 Portage Line Rd., Springfield Twp.) with a comfortable 1.6 mile stroll at dusk along its Prairie Trail. There, it says, you can “soak in the hip-hop stylings of our froggy friends from the overlooks.” Look for the frog in the pricy sneakers! Dusk is also a great time to see our favorite summertime visitors — fireflies! And who knows what else — the naturalist leading the hike will clue you in.
