Learn More About the Local Food System at The Food Shed’s SHED Talks at Market Garden Brewery

Wed 4/17 @ 7-9PM

Do you have a passion for local food? Do you try to eat as much seasonal, organic, humanly raised, and locally grown, raised and produced food as you possible can?

The Food Shed is a new local nonprofit organization with ambitious goals: its mission is to make local food and local food markets more accessible to more people. It plans to have a year-round indoor consignment farm store and an educational and experimental community kitchen.

For starters, it’s inviting all interested people to come down to Market Garden Brewery for SHED Talks. The event features conversation about the local food system with farmers, food producers and people just interested in a healthier and more environmentally responsible way of eating. It’s a Q&A format; if you’d like to submit an anonymous question beforehand (or learn more about The Food Shed), go here.

  1. I can’t make event — I am on vacation. I’m wondering if it’s possible to bring a small farmers market event to our senior center this summer – we are a senior center located inside the Westerly Apartments in Lakewood. We have over 450 residents in the 3 buildings combined, that are lower income seniors. We have a decent sized courtyard, attached to a rotunda area that could work. If someone could contact us I would greatly appreciate. It would also be great to have a speaker that explains the benefits of local raised food. Thanks for what you do!
