Sat 1/25 @ 10AM-7PM
Sun 1/26 @ noon
The Lunar New Year, often known as Chinese New Year, is upon us. And Asia Plaza in Cleveland’s AsiaTown will be in full celebration mode on that day, January 25.
The Kwan Family Lion Dance will start things off at 11am at Li Wah Restaurant and make its day through the building to chase away any evil spirits that might be lurking in its nooks and crannies and bring good luck in the coming year (which is actually the Year of the Rat). They’ll perform again at 7pm. There’ll be additional performances by the LingYun Rising Star Chinese Dancers, OCA Dragon Dance and the Shojoji Japanese dancers, among others.
There’ll also be vendor tables in the plaza and of course, plenty to eat at the plaza’s restaurants.
The Kwan Lion Dance will also perform at noon Sun 1/26 at Asian Town Center, followed by the Dragon Dance. The festivities are free and open to all.
