Sausages and Squeezeboxes Share the Spotlight at Slovenian Sausage Festival

Sat 9/12 @ noon-8PM

If you love sausages, squeezeboxes and Slovenian culture, head out to the SNPJ Farm in Kirtland for the 22nd annual Polka Hall of fame Slovenian Sausage Festival.

There will be music from noon-8pm with more than fifty accordions onstage with ten Cleveland-style polka ensembles, and at jam sessions on the side. Bring your own squeezebox or banjo and join the fun. If you’re not musical, just hit the floor and swing your partner in a polka or cuddle them in a waltz.

But there are TWO main attractions at this event, and the others is Kranjska klobasa — Slovenian sausage. Sample a sausage from each maker and vote for your favorite. Winners of the jury award and people’s choice award will be announced at 6pm. If you’re a vegetarian like me, don’t worry —there’ll be pierogis, strudel and more.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the gate. 18 and under are free.
