Look: if you don’t register to vote, we don’t want to hear you whine, OK? And no, we don’t want to hear your cynicism about how “they’re all the same.” No, they aren’t. We hope you will ignore the idiotic TV ads (Forced transgender surgeries at school! Um, no) and look into the candidates’ records and proposals.
A lot is at stake this November, both in Ohio and nationally, and Ohio has two marquee races on the ballot— for governor and U.S. Senator — and others just as impactful, for offices such as attorney general, secretary of state, auditor and the state legislature. But if you don’t vote you don’t get a say and if you don’t register, you can’t vote. The final day to register is Monday October 5. We advise you go online to the Ohio Secretary of State’s website, or your county board of elections website (Cuyahoga HERE) and double check before then. If you’re not registered get your butt in gear.
And then the very next day you can vote! (We know some of you like to vote at your polling place on Election Day) but voting early I good in case something comes up.) The boards of election are open from 8am-5pm. There will be early voting from then until Sunday November 1; Election Day is November 3 this year. Get it done!
