For the third year, the Morgan Conservatory is hosting its pull-out-all-the-stops fashion show, Dress to IMPRESS, featuring paper fashion and wearable art, created by a pre-selected group of more than 15 artists who have been working for months to fabricate garments that will make your jaw drop.
Its 2026 theme is Brave New World, which it describes as “a hyper-stylish and fashion-forward era that embraces multiple and new realities,” adding that “the world of fashion has consistently served as a mirror to society, reflecting current moods, social movements and cultural paradigms. In Brave New World, dystopian fashions will express concerns for the future and societal turbulence with a ‘new possible’ stepping forth.” I don’t know how much more “dystopia” we can take, but with designers such as the irrepressible Darl Schaaff of Slavic Village’s Darl Center for the Arts, there’s likely to be a fun angle as well.
In addition to the red-carpet runaway show, the fundraising event features munchies, a cash bar, music by DJ NicNacc, silent and online auctions, and an art exhibit.
Doors are at 6; the fashion show starts at 7pm, and there are prizes for first place, runner-up and best dressed guest so you might want to think about hat YOU will wear!
