The free concert series Arts Renaissance Tremont (A.R.T.), which generally features classical musicians, opens its season with an unusual program. It features five diverse jazz musicians, some of whom have never met, and all of whom have never performed together with each other publicly. Each wrote a new composition for this concert, which they’re rehearsing and performing in front of an audience for the first time at this concert. They’re each writing a new piece for this event.
The featured musicians are pianist Addison Frei, trumpet player Omar Lateef, sax/flute player Charles Pillow, bassist Todd Coolman and drummer TJ Reddick.
The concert, which is free, takes place at Pilgrim United Congregational Church immediately after the Tremont Arts and Cultural Festival, right across the street.
