The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is currently hosting its wildly popular Asian Lantern Festival which features Asian-themed lighted installations throughout the zoo.
For a unique and magical view of the lantern and the opportunity to help raise money for the Zoo’s wildlife conservation mission, you can sign up for its Glow Run 5K, and after-hours event for people of all ages to run or walk through the illuminated paths surrounded by the luminous displays. There will be music and other festivities, and runners and walkers are urged to dress in bright neon clothes.
Registrants get a glow-in-the-dark race T-shirt, a glow-in-the-dark medal, post-race refreshments and the chance to see the Asian Lantern Festival. Pick up packets at 7 on race day; the 5K run starts at 8:30 and the one-mile run/walk steps off at 9pm. You can also buy at ticket to be on the sidelines cheering on the runners. Go here to register.
