Alex Bevan is one of Ohio’s true musical treasures. He’s been performing since the late 60s when, as a teenager, he got his feet wet performing in Cleveland’s folk clubs. He released his first album in 1971. He became widely known in the greater Cleveland area in the mid 70s for his song “Skinny Little Boy (from Cleveland, Ohio)” from his 1974 album Springboard. That album was the first released on his own Fiddler’s Wynde label, through which he continues to release music to this day. He’s remained astonishingly prolific, constantly adding to his repertoire with a wide variety of songs that range from humorous to political to elegiac to narrative. He’s also still upping his game as vocalist and guitarist.
Come catch him in a new setting that’s quickly becoming another great local intimate venue for concerts and conversations; Visible Voice Books in Ohio City. Don’t be surprised if Bevan brings along a few friends — he has a lot of them.
