Thu 7/16 @ 6-8PM
Andy Leach came to Cleveland around 15 years ago to run the Rock Hall Library and Archives. Since then he’s become the Rock Hall’s Senior Director of Museum & Archival Collections. He’s also an avid musician whom Cleveland music fans will know from his long-running band New Soft Shoe, which channels a passion for the music of influential country rock pioneer Gram Parsons.
This week he’ll be hosting Visible Voice Books’ monthly Drop the Needle program, where a guest host plays an album they’re passionate about and talks about the music and why they love it. He’ll be presenting the 1993 album Anodyne by Uncle Tupleo, considered one of the founders of contemporary “alt country” music. Anodyne was their fourth and final album. They broke up the following year after seven years together, spawning two other influential ensembles, Son Volt and Wilco.
This is a free event; all are welcome.
