Rock Hall Introduces Women in Metal Exhibition With Concert

Lzzy Hale

Fri 7/10

While women have not typical fronted or played in metal bands, outside of a few prominent exceptions, until recently, that doesn’t make metal different from a lot of other genres. But the Rock Hall is ferreting them out for a new show called Women in Metal: You Will Know My Name. It will be interested to see who is included, especially pre-90s. (Cleveland had at least one prominent woman icon, Sandy Kruger of Sacred Few, who was still performing when she passed away in 2002.)

The exhibit will open on July 10, with a concert on the outdoor PNC stage featuring a short acoustic (!) set by Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger of Halestorm, followed by sets by Erie, Pa’s Storms Within, MAXILLA and Reign of Z.

Women In Metal will open to the public on July 10 with a celebration featuring Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger of Halestorm. Hale and Hottinger will do a short acoustic set on the outdoor PNC Stage, followed by a slate of metal bands: Storms Within, Western Pa’s Reign of Z and Cleveland’s MAXILLA.
