Little Italy Gallery Concerts Explore Commedia Dell'Arte-Inspired Classical Music

Sat 6/6 @ 3PM & 8PM

Sun 6/7 @ 3PM

The Sunday Studio Series at Little Italy’s Studio Espressivo, curated by pianist Allson Hillier and composer Chris Neiner, presents programs that explore the Italian influence in and connection to classical music.

This weekend, they’re presenting Masquerading Melodies, featuring music inspired by Italy’s commedia dell’arte theater. They’ll perform pieces by a wide range of not-all-Italian composers including Ottorino Respighi, Niccolo Paganini, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Jean Sibelius, Claude Debussy, Robert Schumann, Gabriel Faure, Ruggero Leoncavallo, Riccardo Drigo, Josef Szulc and Neiner himself.

Musicians featured include Hillier and Neiner on piano, tenor Timothy Culver and violinist Zachary Brandon. The concerts take place at Murray Hill Galleries, 2026 Murray Hill Road #111. Get pay-what-you-wish tickets here.
