Larchmere Porchfest Offers a Wide Variety of Local Bands in a Casual Outdoor Setting

Sat 6/13 @ 1-10PM

Larchmere Porchfest, taking place on and around Larchmere Boulevard just north of Shaker Square, is a great occasion to explore some of the diverse multitude of musical talent in this area, featuring well-known and unknown bands, performing mostly on people’s porches on the side streets fanning out from the boulevard. (Maps are provided at multiple locations and online, and you’ll need one!)

With staggered time slots, you can browse, taste and discover a new favorite, as well as stop in to visit some of the many locally owned restaurants, bars and retail shops on Larchmere. Genres range from funk to blues to rock to acoustic singer-songwriter to synth to grunge to ska/punk to multiple flavors of jazz. An average of 5-6 bands plays each time slot, and if you have a bicycle, you might be able to catch most of them!

From 6-8pm, the festival converges on a single stage for a pair of headliners. This year, they’re Jinari Kemet & the Black Jackets bringing their hip-hop fusion, and the infectious South American-fueled rhythms of Hello! 3D. There are afterparties too, in several Larchmere restaurants.
