Coco's Selfie Space Hosts Party to Celebrate Black Women Entrepreneurs

Fri 5/8 @ 5-7PM

I was once in what’s now Coco’s Selfie Space, long before it was really a “selfie” space or, as it calls itself “Ohio’s largest selfie museum.” Back then its main claim to fame was promoting a powdery-finished paint to transform your furniture. Located on a lower level of the 5th Street Arcade, it was already a sprawling space with interesting antique furniture and other finds.  Now the 25,000 foot space has been transformed into a different kind of photography studio featuring about 75 different sets and backdrops — but lacking the professional photographer with fancy cameras and lights. Instead, your ticket gives you the chance to be the photographer posing yourself in the various settings.

Want to check it out? Coco’s Selfie Space is hosting an event called Coco’s Mania, celebrating the launch of the 10th issue of Black Girl Living Magazine. It will include a panel discussion featuring a group of entrepreneurial women, music, drinks, snacks and “interactive selfie experiences.” There’ll also be a giveaway contest for prizes such as a $1,500 event package, a $500 shopping spree and a professional photo shoot for two, in case you want more than phone selfies.

Go here for tickets.
