The Hive

The former Chagrin cinema, which opened in 1989 and once had 14 screens, closed in 2023 and was soon acquired by Kimberly McCune-Gibson. She turned the large space into a multipurpose facility called the Hive and Honey Hill. It’s now a live music venue, events space, artisan market, eatery, and headquarters for her 13-year-old gourmet shop the Hungry Bee. It contains an upscale snack counter as well as a sit-down restaurant, Timberfire, which serves American-style food: pizzas, burgers, entrées, small bites, and salads, along with wine, beer and cocktails. And one of the original screen spaces has been preserved for movies, speakers, entertainment and available for your own private event. It’s a community hangout for people of all ages and interests.
