Weather Is looking Good for April Walk All Over Waterloo

It looks like the weather will be pleasant for this month’s Walk All Over Waterloo where you can check out the businesses, galleries and restaurants on Waterloo Road.

Waterloo Arts will be opening a new show of work by two area printmakers: Zoe Brester-Pennings and Meryl Engler, with a reception for, 6-9pm. Brester-Pennings’ show, Buck Soft, in the main gallery, features a series of quilted wall hangings, while Engler’s work in the café, titled When I Become a Tree,  is a series of large-scale woodcuts inspired by a tree she observed near her house. Also opening is new work by well-known area artist Corrie Slawson at Deep Dive Art Projects, and over at Praxis Fiber Workshop’s Gallery Threads of Mastery: An Exhibit of Narrow-Ware Textile Artistry, showcasing work by members of the American Kumihimo Societ, focusing mostly on pieces four inches or less wide using a variety of techniques.

Upstairs above Doink’s at William Busta Projects you can check out a show of newer work by a veteran Cleveland artist Don Harvey from 5:30-8:30pm. Selected Works 2016 -2026 is “dazzling, understated, intrusive, elegant,” according to Busta. .

Waterloo Makes Music, presented by Cleveland Rocks: Past Present Future, is back at the Cleveland Rocks shop, with longtime Cleveland musician/art Xela (Alex Alvarez) who became known on the local indie rock scene during the 80s,  and prolific Lakewood-based singer/songwriter Chris Tuma performing. Music from 6-8pm is free.
