The band Mirrors was one of the legends of Cleveland’s small but influential 1970s art punk scene. Primarily the brainchild of Jamie Klimek (who passed away in 2024), Mirrors was one of a tight clique of underground pre-punk Cleveland bands (including Paul Marotta’s Styrenes and John Morton’s Electric Eels) who exchanged members and inspiration. Bell later played with a version of the reformed Rocket from the Tombs.
Mirrors existed from 1972-1975, and popped up sporadically after that, mostly in the 80s, with occasional “reunions” to follow. Its recorded work, all released after the original band’s demise, was scattershot. One of those reunions resulted in an album, recorded and mixed between 2010 and 2018. That album, called High All the Time, now available at local independent record stores Blue Arrow, Hausfrau and My Minds Eye, as well as online here.
The album features original Mirrors members Klimek and Paul Marotta, as well as Tom Fallon from New Salem Witch Hunters on guitar and vocals, Tom Madej on drums and Dave Franduto on lead guitar and vocals. All material was written by Klimek.
