NEWS: Cleveland Metroparks Puts Out Call for Bands for Its Summer Concerts

Cleveland Metroparks has long hosted free music throughout the summer at various of its locations, but in the last several years, it’s dramatically increased the amount of music it presents. Last year there were dozens of concerts at Huntington Beach, the Emerald Necklace Marina, the East 55th Street Marina, Merwin’s Wharf, Euclid Beach and Edgewater Beach, Most also featured food trucks, games for kids and other recreational activities, making them great summer evenings to enjoy Cleveland amenities including its waterfront. They typically run from early June through late August.

Cleveland Metroparks is currently accepting submission from bands for a possible slot on one of these evenings; the schedule will be announced in the spring.  The range of acts the series features is wide: it includes rock and pop, reggae, funk, soul, folk, hip hop, jazz and country. It tends to go a little heavy on cover bands, with even a few tribute acts, but bands and musicians that perform their own music have also appeared on these shows.

Local and regional bands are invited to apply through February 9. For more information or to submit, visit clevelandmetroparks.com/bands.
