Local Musicians Honor John Lennon at Beachland Memorial Event

Sun 12/7 @ 6PM (Doors 5pm)

More than just music fans were shocked when, on December 8, 1980, John Lennon was shot outside the New York City apartment building where he lived by a deranged ex-fan. It was the first murder of such a major musician in the lifetimes of almost everyone around then, and especially shocking since less than two decades earlier, the Beatles had changed music, fashion, culture and more. And Lennon, who had been keeping a low profile for several years after taking time off when his son was born, was on the verge of re-emerging to make new music. It hit Beatles fans, most of whom were then in their 30s, hard.

Those original Beatles fans – and many who were born after Lennon’s death and discovered their music later — still remember him on the anniversary of his death at events such as John Lennon Remember 2025 at the Beachland Ballroom, which local musician Kendall Stauffer has been organizing for many years.

The lineup for the mostly seated show includes the Kendall Stauffer Band, the Marc Stauffer Band, Colette Gschwind, Robin Stratton, Brian Henke, Mark Teifenbach, the Sidemen, Twisted Vibes, Nick and Lori, Angelle Sheridan, Charlie Weiner, Ted Riser and Tom Vail, and others to be announced. It’s an all-ages show. Proceeds will benefit Cleveland Rocks: Past Present Future. Get tickets here.
