Fruitcakes Will Face Off at the Great Grog Bake Off at the Grog Shop

Tue 11/11 @ 8PM

Once again, the Grog Shop is hosting the Great Grog Bake Off, inspired by the British TV show, The Great British Bake Off. And with the holidays coming up rapidly, contestants will be asked to make a challenging holiday classic: fruitcake. Try something different — nontraditional fruits, unusual icing — anything to make it different from that brick-like thing no one wanted to eat. To enter go here.

The audience will have a chance to sample and vote, so bring a lot of friends. The professional judges, whom you also have to impress, are chef/entrepreneur Doug Katz of Zhug, Amba, Kiln and Provenance, and Courtney Bonning, co-owner of Tremont’s Terrapin Bakery and former owner of Bon Bon Pastry and Café.

The event is hosted by local comedians Ramon Rivas and Sarah Vulpio who will keep the proceedings lively and entertaining.
