Even though it seems like the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s wildly popular Asian Lantern Festival always gets extended, all good things must come to an end. And the festival’s last day is Saturday September 13.
Ok, not quite. There’s one additional day to see the series of monumental lit-up sculptures all over the sprawling zoo grounds — if you have a bicycles. On Sunday September 14, the festival will again close with its family-friendly Wild Ride, a chance for those on bicycles only to ride through the display and see the ocean creatures, a four-story hydrangea and butterfly tree, animals of the Nile, a walk-through tunnel and a dozen illuminated dragons including a 100-foot-long “Fire and Ice” dragon display.
