Berea Arts Fest Moves to the Shores of Coe Lake for Year 35

Sun 9/14 @ 10AM-5PM

Another long-running arts fest is back this weekend when the Berea Arts Fest celebrates its 35th year — but with a change. Instead of taking place in downtown Berea, it’ll be along the shores of nearby Coe Lake, and the theme this year is, appropriately, “Making Waves.” The new space offers an amphitheater, trails, playgrounds and of course, water.

More than 130 regional and national artists will be sharing and selling their work in a wide range of mediums, with artists demonstrations (origami, caricatures), live painters, the Joy Unspeakable Living Statue, and strolling artists.

Music on the main stage kicks off with the North Coast Winds from 10-11am, Colour Phase from 11:30am-12:30pm, Akron soul/jazz instrumentalists Nathan Paul and the Admirables from 1-2pm, Bike Hoke from 2:30-3:30pm and glam rockers Vanity Crash from 4-5pm. An acoustic stage features performances by Tommy Discenzo, Bill Sanders, Victor Samalot, Bobbi Holt and Dreadlock Dave from 11am-4pm.

The Kids Kreation Station will be back, with hands-on, make-and-take projects for kids 3-12, including paper bag kite making, tissue paper paintings, CD wind spinners and more. The new venue will host an expanded food truck lineup to fuel all that art browsing, including The Pierogi Lady, You Enjoy My Donuts, bRaised in the CLE, and Weber’s Premium Custard & Ice Cream.

As always, it’s free Go here for more information including a list of participating artists and parking info.
