Cleveland musician Adam Rich formed his Love Muffin record label back in the 1990s, when he was still in school at Bowling Green State University. His original intention was to use it to release his band’s own music, but that mission gradually expanded to include the music of other artists he liked.
In 2008 he created an event called LoveMuffinPalooza which has evolved into an annual benefit event for The Gathering Place, a nonprofit that provides support to patients and families dealing with cancer. www.touchedbycancer.org
The lineup this year includes Rich’s current band Flowers Love Being Kurt, singer/songwriter/ guitarist/producer Taylor Lamborn, singer/songwriter Mallory SanMarco, jazz musician Bill DeGidio and Saints. Cleveland’s legendary (now retired) folksinger/comedian Charlie Wiener and Casey Calvetta from Calvetta Brothers Floor Show will emcee.
To raise more money for The Gathering Place, there’ll be raffles for more than 150 prizes from area businesses including restaurant gift certificate, sports memorabilia and a guitar.
