The Tower Press Building is one of Cleveland’s first live/work space for artists that’s still a live/work space. A wide variety of artists work and/or live there, including painters, sculptors, photographers and filmmakers.
A couple of times a year they host an open studio event, where you can drop in on the artists in their spaces or check out their artwork (and that of guest artists) at the ground-floor Wooltex Gallery. Among the things you can check out are playwright John Busser doing readings from his newest play 37 Origami Bees; photography by Dan Morgan and Charlotte Mann in Morgan’s Suite 117 as well as photography by “new to the building but not to the local art scene” Mychal Lilly in Suite 101 where there will also be dessert and hot dogs; vintage clothin g in Suite 119; mixed-media abstracta by Amelia Casiano in the Wooltex Gallery; and — as they say — much much more.
Admission is free and there’s free parking behind the building. Stop in on your way to the Cleveland Asian Festival just a few blocks away. Get more info here.
