Last month, Cleveland chamber ensemble Les Délices hosted a series of programs called “Sea Songs and Shanty Sings,” featuring Nova Scotia singer/bouzouki player Seán Dagher.

If you didn’t get enough of him, Dagher is back this week to join Les Délices for The Mermaid, described as “a fantastic journey filled with tales of pirates, fearsome storms, raucous drinking songs, toe-tapping fiddle tunes, rousing sea shanties, and more.” In addition to Dagher, the Les Délices ensemble of ensemble director Debra Nagy on oboe, Allison Monroe on violin, and Rebecca Landell on cello and Anthony Taddeo on percussion will be joined by soprano Elena Mullins Bailey for this evening of traditional and folk tunes as well as arrangements of Henry Purcell and Franz Joseph Haydn.

They’ll perform at the Akron Civic Theatre’s Knight Stage on Friday, Height Theatre on Saturday and West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in Rocky River on Sunday.

The family-friendly concert is just over an hour and will be filmed to air as a virtual concert (May 23-June 8). Get tickets here.
