The Print Club of Cleveland was founded in 1919 to help purchase prints for the collection of the then-brand new Cleveland Museum of Art (founded in 1913) and to educate potential collectors about this more affordable form of art collecting. One of the ways it does so is through its Fine Print Fair, celebrating its 40th year when it returns this weekend.
The weekend kicks off with its Collector Night benefit preview Thursday April 25 from 5:30-8pm giving serious print lovers the first opportunity to buy prints from the fair’s dealers, while enjoying drinks and munchies. It’s a benefit for the Print Club.
On Friday through Sunday, the Fine Print Fair in the Ames Family Atrium, is free and open to the public to browse offerings from 15 dealers, both, local and national, chat with the dealers about their offerings and take in demonstrations about printmaking. The event features prints in a gamut of printmaking processes, modern prints as well as vintage ones, and prices ranging from highly affordable to those requiring a significant commitment, which maybe you’ll be persuaded to make.
