The students in the music theatre program at Baldwin Wallace University are the crème de la crème of aspiring young performers: a majority of graduates go immediately into careers onstage and in TV and movies immediately after graduation. So when you have the chance to see the students perform you should go — you may be seeing them onstage at Playhouse Square in a national touring show very soon!
Naturally, they’re always looking for performance opportunities to hone their chops, so this week, the program’s junior class will be putting on a show in the Spirits Room at Market Garden Brewery. There they will perform music by one of the theater’s most innovative and challenging composer/lyricists, Stephen Sondheim, composer of musicals such as Gypsy, Sweeney Todd, Company, Follies, Into the Woods and A Little Night Music.
Opening the evening will be students from the sophomore class performing jazz standards. Go here for tickets.
