PHOTOSTREAM: Fresh Fest at Rid-All Farm by Anastasia Pantsios

09.09.2023 Fresh Fest

Sat 9/9

The fourth annual edition of Rid-All Farm’s Fresh Fest showcased food, music, art, crafts, entrepreneurship and healthy living resources, with a focus on Cleveland’s Black community. While it Main Stage was headlined by a pair of legendary hip-hop New Yorkers: DJ Scratch and rapper/producer KRS-One, it also featured such local talent as R&B-infused rockers Apostle Jones, reggae band Shake (pronounced Shaky) Ground, the three-woman ensemble SYS, DJ Red-I and a mini-DJ named Lily Jade. Throughout the grounds, local chefs and food trucks offer dozens of choices, a good percentage of them vegetarian or vegan. Local farms gave away veggies and watermelons, vendors displayed colorful African-inspired garb and the opportunities to participate were numerous — yoga classes, crafts and a skating rink among them. Despite intermittent drizzle, a large crowd showed up — including Mayor Justin Bibb — and stayed until the end.
