Free Music Comes Downtown with Gigs on the Green

Front Porch Lights

Wed 6/7 @ 5:30-8:30

Stop moping about the Parties in the Park you think you remember from back in the day when downtown Cleveland was a ghost town. Head downtown every Wednesday evening from now through September 27 to hear some of the area’s most talented bands and artists – and no, these aren’t tribute bands or even cover bands, so stop wailing about THAT.

The series is called Gigs on the Green and it will move to a different downtown location each month, starting with Public Square in June. July will be at the Worthington Yards Courtyard; August moves over Voinovich Park on the lake; and September wraps up at Fort Huntington Park at the corner of Lakeside and West 3rd.

Two acts will play each Wednesday starting with the Ben Gage Band and Front Porch Lights this Wednesday June 7. Wave Rowanne and the Labra Brothers perform June 14, Kristine Jackson and the Chatfield Boys on June 21, and Free Black! And Jul Big Green on June 28. It’s all free. Bring your blanket, grab something from a nearby restaurant and enjoy a summer evening downtown.

Go here for a full schedule.
