Sat 3/4 @ 8PM
After a nearly three-year pandemic hiatus, the monthly Bainbridge swing dances returned at the beginning of the year, giving people of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to try out this very social form of dancing, with live music from some of the area’s best musicians animating the dance floor.
The dances start with a lesson at 8pm, for both newbies and more experienced dancers to learn the steps and get in the groove. Dancing to live music starts at 9pm and goes to 11pm.
This month’s live band is Radio Rhythm IDOL, led by veteran northeast Ohio bluegrass musician Paul Kovac and accordionist Carrie King. They describe their repertoire as “American songbook standards, west coast rockabilly, pre-rock & roll R&B, east & western swing, all selected to make you want to dance.” And they’ll have a special guest as well: Cory Grinder, vocalist for the Cleveland-based honky-tonk band Cory Grinder & the Playboy Scouts. So if your feet get tired, you can take a break and have a good time just listening to some great music.
The dances, taking place at the Family Life Center in Chagrin Falls, are family-friendly and partners aren’t needed; throughout the evening, everyone switches up and gets to dance with a lot of new people. Admission is $15 for adults $10 for kids, $40 for families. For more information go here.
