Summit Metro Parks Hosts Program on Iceland

Tue 1/10 @ 6-7:30PM

The tiny northern European island of Iceland, located where the North Atlantic and Arctic oceans meet, contains some of the world’s most beautiful scenery, filled with fjords and glaciers and geysers and volcanoes and waterfalls. Most of the country is wilderness, with a total population only slightly larger than Cleveland’s, with about a third of it living in the capital city of Reykjavik.

Learn more about this exotic yet familiar locale when Summit Metro Parks hosts a program called “Traveling to Iceland” at its F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm/Visitors Center.  The program will share what Ohio has in common with Iceland, which doesn’t seem to be very much — Iceland is a democracy and Ohio isn’t. Anyway, you’ll also get a taste of Icelandic cod, one of their popular foods. The Summit Metro Parks folks claim it’s “tasty.” Go to the event and find out if that’s accurate!

It’s free and open to all. For more information, call 330-865-8065.
