VIDEO ENDORSEMENT: Cheryl Stephens for Lieutenant Governor of Ohio

Dayton mayor Nan Whaley did something bold in her run for the Democratic primary for governor of Ohio (which she won): she chose another woman as her running mate.

That in itself isn’t unprecedented — for a man. But in a state that’s never elected a woman governor or senator, a two-woman ticket made a powerful statement, especially since that woman was Stephens who served as mayor of Cleveland Heights and a Cuyahoga County council member, earning a reputation for doing her homework, speaking her mind once she had the facts and getting the job done.

CoolCleveland spoke with Cheryl Stephens recently at a fundraiser and she talked about the historic opportunity Ohioans have to be the first EVER to elect a woman governor in Nan Whaley and a women Lieutenant Governor in Cheryl Stephens.
