Akron’s downtown July 4 celebration, the Rib, White and Blue Festival, returns to Lock 3 for four days of free fun.
As the name suggests there’ll be plenty of food to enjoy while hanging out at this green oasis in the heart of Akron. There’ll also be music with those Lock 3 mainstays, tribute bands, playing each evening, with a journey tribute July 1, a Springsteen tribute July 2, a Queen tribute July 3 and a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute July 4.
And yes, there will be fireworks: they’ll happen on July 4 as soon as the Rubber Ducks game up the street concludes. Akron will also have fireworks at the Patterson Park Sports Complex and the Akron Executive Airport, both at 9:45pm.
