Area nonprofits are mounting more shows than they have in more than two years. Audiences are starting to come out of hibernation, though not in the same numbers as before. Normal? No one knows what that is anymore. But we’re all gushy and emotional seeing people out and about, buying tickets and socializing.We’re thrilled with all that’s going on. ListenCLE is an effort started by a pair of local performers to connect other performers with audiences. They booked street performers at the NFL draft and NBA All-Star weekend, and are working with Destination Cleveland, Playhouse Square and other organizations to find more opportunities. And they’re creating soundtracks of local music for play in restaurants, bars and other establishments. Read More

Being Black and Republican is like being a Jewish Nazi. You can be expelled from a political party or an organization. Unfortunately, you cannot be expelled from your racial heritage. If I could vote to expel anyone from being Black, I’d nominate Byron Donalds for expulsion, just after I nominated Justice Clarence Thomas. But Donalds is a party man.
