Detroit Shoreway Will Be Overrun With Free Activities During Snow Day Event

Sat 12/11 @ noon-6PM

Cold weather never stopped festival-izing in Cleveland, as winter events such as Brite Winter and Kurentovanje have demonstrated. So weather shouldn’t be a factor in the Gordon Square Arts District’s Snow Day event, which offers a lot of activities for people of all ages.

Expect outdoor live music and other performances, fire pits, visual arts installations, hands-on activities, snacks such as s’mores and hot chocolate and a special Kid Zone in the Gordon Square Arcade, where kids can get COVID vaccine, masks and COVID tests, spread out within three blocks of West 65th and Detroit. OK, maybe that’s not exciting but I’ll bet your kid is smarter than anti-vaxxers.

There’ll be lots to check out indoors as well: at area arts spaces such as the Capitol Theatre (showing free movies while tickets last), Near West Theatre and Cleveland Public Theatre, as well as the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland (where its Queer the Halls holiday market will be going on) and 78th Street Studios, which will be the site of the huge two-day Cleveland Bazaar. A free shuttle will be running between West 67th and Detroit and 78th Street Studios from 2-6pm.

Go here for a full schedule and list of activities.
