Apollo’s Fire Benefit Gives Supporters the Chance to Spend Sunday With Bach

Sun 7/25 @ 5PM

If you’re a fan/supporter of Cleveland’s internationally acclaimed baroque ensemble Apollo’s Fire, you’ll want to join them to spend “Sunday in the Park with Johann,” their annual IN-PERSON (!) gala benefit, taking place at Mapleside Farms in Brunswick.

They kick off their 30th season in 2021-22, following a 29th season in which they deftly found new ways to reach audiences during a pandemic. They claim to have the largest following of any baroque orchestra in the U.S. with 4 million YouTube views, and the pandemic gave them the opportunity toexplore ways to reach new audiences with virtual programming.

Apollo’s Fire founder and artistic director Jeannette Sorrell will lead the ensemble in a program of music by J.S. Bach and Antonio Vivaldi at 6pm, as the event’s centerpiece. It will be preceded by a 5pm cocktail hour and silent auction, and followed by dinner and wine at 7 and dessert and coffee at 8.

Since it’s an outdoor event, it’s not super dressy — they’re advising “countryside chic.” For more information and tickets, go to apollosfire.org/galas.
