Artist Dan Miller Talks About His Trauma-Inspired Work at Waterloo Arts

Wed 9/11 @ 6PM

Cleveland artist Dan Miller’s show Some Disassembly Required, curated by the Maria Neil Art Project at Waterloo Arts, is more nakedly personal than many art shows.

Miller has created a set of striking drawings that deal with the trauma of a near-death experience he had in 2017 when he was the victim of a hit-and-run accident on his motorcycle it had the unexpected effect of triggering his creativity. He addresses depression and suicidal thoughts through his deceptively primitive-looking drawings that blend a hodge-podge of written statements, objects and ominous black blots.

Miller will share the stories behind his about his work at Waterloo Arts and talk with visitors about it. Doors open at 6; there’ll be light refreshments. Miller’s talk starts at 6:45.
