A 50-year (with a gap) institution in Cleveland, the Hessler Street Fair is a two-day trip back to the ’60s, the peace-and-love part. With handcrafted vendors, homemade food, booths from local community businesses and nonprofits, a kids’ play area with creative games, street entertainers, and a main stage featuring 21 bands, it’s a friendly feast for ears and eyes, and a weekend fantasy for wannabe hippies.

It was also supposed to be the last one, although music organizer Packy Malley suggested onstage that the event might just be taking another hiatus. Still, when the final notes sounded of Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band’s nearly three-hour set, with the booths and tents emptied out, people lingered, soaking in the beloved vibes in case there’s never another opportunity.
