Learn About Activist Legend Dolores Huerta at Free Film Screening at Baldwin Wallace

Thu 8/9 @ 6:30PM

Dolores Huerta, now 88, is a legend in the immigrant farm worker community. The civil rights/workers rights activist worked side by side with the better-known Cesar Chavez during the famous grape strikes of the 1960s and with him co-founded the group that would become the United Farm Workers. (Typically, the men get all the credit). She is still engaged via her Dolores Huerta Foundation, which raises up the leaders of the future.

Want to learn more about her? Jobs with Justice Cleveland is hosting a screening of the recent film Dolores, which tells the story of her life and her activism. The event includes guest speakers Tania Nemer an immigration attorney with Catholic Charities and Lynn Tramonte, the deputy director of America’s Voice. It takes pace at Baldwin Wallace University’s Kulas Hall. It’s free.
