VIDEO: Celebrating Women In Science at CMNH

Here’s the theory: maybe if women scientists could grow facial hair, they’d be taken more seriously as scientists.

This humorous photo exhibit is The Bearded Lady Project, and it kicks off a new series of lectures, special exhibits and programs at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History entitled, Celebrating Women In Science- Presented by KeyBank.”

CoolCleveland spoke with Dr. Denise Su, head of Paleobotany and Paleoecology at CMNH, who had the bright idea to put fake beards on women scientists and exhibit the photos.

Plus the series includes an exhibit on careers in science for women and girls entitled, “I Am A Woman In Science.” Running through February 18, 2018, the series features panel discussions, videos, and even a pizza party.
