Toronto-based singer/songwriter Royal Wood released his debut EP The Milkweed in 2003. The eight more EPs and full-lengths he’s released since then, including last year’s Ghost Light, on which he played most of the instruments, display a range of influences, from reflective singer/songwriters such as Randy Newman and Tom Waits to the buoyant, full-tilt 60s-style pop of the Beatles and the Beach Boys.

He’s performed on the road and at festivals with many sympathetic singer/songwriters, many of them women. And on his current tour, with dates around the Great Lakes region in Ontario, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio, and all the way to Massachusetts, he’s accompanied by one that Clevelanders know well: Diana Chittester. Over the last decade, she’s acquired a reputation as one of the most talented and busiest performers in town, with her potent tunes, ringing vocals and impressive guitar skills.

The twosome will take the stage in her hometown at the Music Box Supper Club in the Flats. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 day of show.
