Since the late ’70s with the band the Birthday Party, vocalist Nick Cave has been a cornerstone of goth-rock, with his deep stentorian voice and his gloomy, morbid lyrics. After the Birthday Party broke up in 1983, he formed Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, his primary musical vehicle to this day.
They’re about to release their 16th album, Skeleton Tree, on September 9. And to promote it, they’ll be screening a film called One More Time With Feeling in movie theaters around the world for one night only. The film deals with the background of the album and the process of recording it, with performances of the new songs, along with interviews and narration by Cave.
You can see it locally at the Capitol Theatre. Tickets are $12.50. You can buy them advance online.
